What is an eWallet?

If you’re not using eWallet yet, you’re missing it. This digital wallet is here to simplify your life and save you time on banking.

South Africans now have the advantage of eWallet services from FNB Bank, allowing them to send money and make secure payments easily.

Paying bills, transferring funds, or shopping online – everything can be accomplished in part of what it would take through traditional methods!

With its simplicity and security features providing peace of mind, eWallet is changing how financial needs are managed across South Africa.

Thanks to FNB Bank making this technology accessible to everyone who wants it, we all get access to reliable digital transfers.

How can you make a transfer using eWallet?

Using your eWallet is simple, and you’ll learn how to do it in a blink of an eye. The first step is to create your eWallet account on your FNB mobile app.

To create your eWallet, you’ll need a valid South African cellphone number. It will be like an account number to send and receive money.

Once you set up your eWallet and link your bank account to it, you can transfer up to R15 00 per day for other eWallets.

The money will be transferred directly from your FNB account, and the person you’re sending the money will receive an SMS to inform them.

The first thing to do is to keep calm. Getting nervous will only worsen things, and you can make even more mistakes.

Now, you must follow the instructions – even if they seem curious.

The second step after remaining calm is to dial the following code on your phone: *120*321#. This number goes directly into your phone dial pad.

This will open an instructions page on your phone screen. This is the hacking-like part. Funny, right?

You’ll see a menu with many options. You’ll select option number 4 to “send money.” The final goal is to un-send money, but you’ll get there.

After choosing option 4 in this menu, you’ll open another round of options. And there, you’ll see the wanted “eWallet reversal” option.

It will be option 5, so hit the number, and you’re almost there. It will open a list of all of your recent eWallet transfers.

Look for the one you’d like to reverse and choose it with the respective number.

You get the payment reversed if the money was not withdrawn from the receiver’s eWallet.

Remember that the transaction will be reversed automatically if you do not withdraw a receive eWallet transfer to your account within 7 days.

Is there any fee to reserve an eWallet transfer?

South African banks are known for charging many fees to their customers. Things are not different with the eWallet.

If you need to reverse an eWallet transfer, be ready to pay an R50 fee. So, if the transfer was lower than this amount, it is not worth it to reverse it.

We know that mistakes can happen for many reasons. The FNB bank also knows that, and that’s why you have a chance of undoing your transfer.

However, making a bank transaction is something very serious. Don’t do it in a rush or absently. It can cause you a lot of problems.

Adding one or two zeros by the end of your transaction can cost you a whole month of housing or food.

How to avoid making a mistake and having to reverse an eWallet transfer?

eWallet transfers can be a great way to quickly and easily send money in South Africa, which is why it is becoming increasingly popular.

Mistakes in eWallet transfers can sometimes be costly, so it’s important to ensure that your money reaches its intended recipient.

To help you avoid making mistakes with eWallet transfers, we’ll give you a few tips:

Double-check the amount you’re transferring

Make sure you double-check the size of the transaction before confirming it.

eWallets don’t usually provide the same kind of protection from fraud as other payment methods.

Read carefully the number of zeros you put there, as it can make a huge difference in your bank account.

Take note of and track your transactions

Bank apps and eWallets usually have a history of transactions registered. However, please don’t leave it all for the app.

To stay in charge of your money and keep your finances on track, note your expenses and transactions.

This will make it easier to notice when something is wrong.

Ask the recipient to double-check and confirm the transfer number

Your recipient is responsible for sending you the right phone number to receive the eWallet.

Once they double-check it, you must also put the right numbers on your eWallet transfer.

Finally, trust your instincts and seek more advice if you are ever in doubt or feel uncomfortable conducting a transaction.

Taking care of eWallet transfers is necessary for anyone looking to have peace of mind when sending funds worldwide.
